1. General
These Terms of Use define the conditions and rules related to the use of the website www.e-medikus.com (hereinafter: EM).
By accessing and registering on www.e-medikus.com, you are deemed to be fully informed of these Terms of Use without exception, to have fully understood them, and to agree with the rules stated herein, and you accept to use www.e-medikus.com in accordance with them. The right to use this website is a personal right of each user.
While using the EM website, the rules and terms stated here apply, as well as all valid and applicable laws in the Republic of Croatia and the European Union (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation); GDPR).
Information found here is not a substitute for your knowledge and experience on which you base decisions regarding diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.

2. About us
The website www.e-medikus.com (hereinafter: EM) is owned by Dedal komunikacije d.o.o. (hereinafter: DK).
Dedal komunikacije d.o.o., Cenkovečka 9, 10000 Zagreb, provides an interactive online education service via the website on the domain www.e-medikus.com. The service includes providing information systems, content review and management, the ability to take online tests for obtaining and renewing work licenses, and data analytics. The term “Website” in these Terms of Use includes all web pages within the domain www.e-medikus.com.
3. Users of the EM website
The information on www.e-medikus.com is intended for healthcare professionals and persons authorized to prescribe and dispense medicines in accordance with the regulations of the Republic of Croatia. Accordingly, the EM website is intended for education, opinion research, and informing physicians, pharmacists, nurses and technicians, dentists, medical biochemists, and other healthcare professionals in the Republic of Croatia.
Registration on EM is also permitted for employees of pharmaceutical companies who have access to content organized by their company, and they are required to provide company and job position details during registration.
This website is intended for adults. EM does not collect personal data from minors (persons under 16 years of age) without prior verifiable consent of their legal representative; the legal representative has the right, upon request, to review the data provided by the minor and/or request deletion of such data.
Impersonation and false registration by persons for whom the EM website is not intended are strictly prohibited and may result in civil, misdemeanor, or criminal liability. EM assumes no responsibility for any damage to an end user arising or that could arise from access to or use of the website by persons using false data. EM reserves the right to verify the accuracy of data entered in the register and to disable access if false representation is established. EM will also delete all inaccurate data from its database.
Any person granted access to the data on www.e-medikus.com bears full responsibility for any direct or indirect damage arising or that could arise from access to, use of, or inability to use this website.
The provisions of these Terms will always be available to you so you can act in accordance with them.
DK and EM reserve the right to amend these Terms of Use at any time and shall not be liable for any consequences arising from such changes. Changes enter into force upon publication on this website or when users are notified. After notice of amendments, by continuing to use the EM website you accept them and agree to the amended Terms, which will apply to your further relationship with DK and EM.
4. End-user conduct
Users must not use this website for advertising or conducting any commercial, religious, political, or non-commercial promotion, including inviting users to join another online or offline service that is a direct or indirect competitor or potential competitor of EM or DK. Users also undertake not to use EM for any form of automated data processing or promotional activity for their own benefit or the benefit of third parties; not to demean, obstruct, insult, or defame other users or third parties; not to publish pornographic content, advertise alcohol and alcohol products, tobacco or tobacco products, or prohibited narcotic substances. Users must not use the website for anything illegal, deceptive, malicious, or discriminatory, nor enable persons who are not healthcare professionals to access it.
5. Registration and use
Creating a user account requires you to provide user data: name and surname, date of birth, personal identification number (OIB), phone number, email address, profession, license number, specialization, workplace details, and other data listed in the registration form, as well as choosing a username and password associated with the account. By accepting these Terms you agree that your data are true, accurate, valid, and complete, and that you will update them if necessary. Your personal data will be processed for the purposes stated in Article 9.3 of these Terms of Use for the entire period you use the website.
Registration on EM is permitted for healthcare professionals in the Republic of Croatia as described in Article 3, and for employees of pharmaceutical companies who are not healthcare professionals but have access to content organized by their company. Employees of the pharmaceutical industry who are not healthcare professionals cannot take educational courses or collect points for license renewal; their registration is allowed so they can monitor content sponsored by the company. Such employees must provide company and job position details during registration, in addition to name and surname, date of birth, phone number, and email address.
To use the EM website after registration, a username and password are required.
EM users are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of their user account and must not allow another person to use their username and password to access EM content.
By registering and accepting these Terms of Use:
- you warrant that you are an adult healthcare professional authorized under applicable regulations of the Republic of Croatia to perform medical, dental, or other healthcare activities, or a person authorized to prescribe and dispense medicines as stated in Article 3, or an employee of a pharmaceutical company;
- you accept to use the EM website only for purposes permitted by these Terms, applicable laws of the Republic of Croatia and the European Union, and the relevant professional codes of ethics;
- you accept that you will not use the EM website in any way that would disrupt or cause interruption of services or cause damage as described in Article 6 or damage to any third party as described in Article 4; you will use it conscientiously, and for questions you will contact EM support and the Data Protection Officer at: email: zastita.podataka@dedal.hr or phone: 013866907;
- you agree to receive notices or other communications via the information in your profile and additional contact consents explained in Article 9.
6. Ownership and copyright of EM website content
Content on EM is protected by copyright. Use of content published on EM pages is permitted for private, informational, scientific and/or educational purposes.
Content or parts of content published on EM are owned by Dedal komunikacije d.o.o., partners, or individual authors and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used in whole or in part for commercial purposes or in any way that directly or indirectly may cause harm to DK, EM, or third parties, or used in a manner not defined by these Terms. Documents, data, and information published on EM may not be reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without DK’s explicit consent.
Unauthorized use of any part of the content is considered a violation of copyright.
DK expressly prohibits any use of EM in a way and/or for purposes that directly or indirectly violate any applicable law or regulation in force in the Republic of Croatia, as well as good customs.
By using EM content, users accept all risks arising from such use and accept to use EM content exclusively for personal use and at their own responsibility.
As stated in Article 5, users are personally responsible for protecting the confidentiality of passwords and usernames and acknowledge that, although the Internet is generally a safe environment, service interruptions or events beyond EM’s control may occur.
EM is not responsible for any data loss that may occur during the transfer of information on the Internet if Internet access is unavailable for objective reasons for which EM is not responsible.
Users are responsible for procuring and maintaining their computer equipment, including all software and hardware they own and use, as well as other equipment necessary to access and use this website, and all related costs. Neither EM nor DK is responsible for any damage to user equipment that may occur as a result of using this website.
DK is not responsible for the use of EM or any other site accessible through EM. By accepting these Terms, all EM users agree that they access the EM website and any linked pages at their own risk.
8. Links to other websites
EM contains or may contain third-party information and links to other websites for further information of healthcare professionals. DK has no control and is not responsible for the content on third-party websites nor for the use of those websites if access is enabled from the EM website. The owner of such websites is solely responsible for their content; users are referred to the respective ownership and legal information and terms of use of those websites. DK does not provide any warranties regarding accuracy, credibility, timeliness, or any other quality of information contained on third-party websites.
